Why is your serving size so large?
Due to the traditionally low alcohol content of liqueurs the TTB requires the serving size to reflect 2.5 ounces vs. a typical 1.5 ounce serving for most products. Most of our drink recipes call for 1-1.5 ounces.
How can allulose have carbs but no calories?
Allulose is technically a sugar, but it doesn’t behave like a normal carbohydrate. It does not metabolize in your body, which is why it’s so low in calories. About 90% of the allulose you consume gets absorbed through your small intestine and excreted through urine.
Should I count the carbs for allulose?
When calculating net carbs, allulose is subtracted from total carbohydrates because it is not metabolized and therefore causes no increase in blood glucose or blood insulin levels (International Food Information Council).
Does allulose stop ketosis?
Allulose is a natural keto-friendly sweetener. It won’t affect ketosis, trigger inflammation, or spike blood sugar because our bodies don’t digest it. With zero net grams of carbs.
What is the glycemic index of allulose?
Zero, Allulose has a GI score of 0. This means that it has no impact on blood sugar. In fact, allulose actually has anti-diabetic properties that help to keep blood sugar lower, and has been shown to have no negative health effects.
How long do Above Board liqueurs stay good?
The way our products are formulated, they will never actually spoil due to microbiological growth. We recommend consuming within 6 months of purchase for the freshest experience.
Do Above Board liqueurs need to be refrigerated after opening?
Above Board liqueurs do not require refrigeration.
